Google+ Accounts No Longer Required For Leaving Local Reviews In Google

Google-maps-logoWhen it comes to leaving reviews on local businesses within Google Maps, Google has decided to remove the Google+ account requirement.  Also, Google’s user interface has been updated for adding reviews while in the search results screen.

The new interface was first spotted by Conrad O’Connell, while Mike Blumenthal noticed the removal of the Google+ requirement, which he said might make it “somewhat easier to leave [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][reviews] going forward.”  He also said that “Google seems to have fixed a long standing bug that prevented reviews being left on mobile browsers if the business had no previous reviews.”
