After “how to register” voter registration tools was launched last month, Google added a new state-by-state “how to vote” guide to their voting tools.
With the November elections coming up, Google searches for “how to vote” are surfacing a “2016 Election: How to Vote” box with “How to,” “Requirements,” and “When to vote” tabs that give users information, such as voter ID requirements, early voting procedures, mail-in ballots and deadlines.
Google has also shared search trends from the last four years, which shows how “voter registration” searches hae changed since the last election in 2012.
“In fact, compared to the same time four years ago, nationwide searches for voter registration are up 190 percent nationwide,” writes product manager Emily Moxley on Google’s Inside Search blog.
