Google My Business Adds New Photos Insights

Thrive Business Marketing company logo

Google My Business recently added a brand new metric to the insights section of the Google My Business dashboard.  The new metric is photos.  Now, you will be able to see the number of times people are viewing your photos and comparing that to your competitors.

You’ll find that in the the features page documents that “insights are now available for photos”  You will be able to “see how your photos perform compared to phtos of business like yours.”

Check out the screen shot from Barry Schwartz’s business account:

On the chart, the blue line represents your business’ photo views, and the red link shows the views for businesses similar to yours.  It will even summerize how well or badly you have done at the bottom.

Here’s how you can access this:

  1. Sign in to Google My Business.
  2. Make sure you’re using card view . If you’re viewing your locations as a list instead of cards, switch to card view by clicking the cards icon on the right side above your pages.
  3. If you manage more than one location in your account, click the location whose Insights you want to view.
  4. Click Insights from the bar at the top of the page, beside Info.
