Google Search Console Now Lets Users Group Sites Together With Property Sets

Thrive Business Marketing company logo

Google-thumbIt was recently announced by Google that Google Search Console users can now group together multiple properties so that you can get aggregate data in the Search Analytics report.

The reason for this new feature is because Google Search Console has always been reporting Search Analytics data on a property-by-property basis.  Since every propert had to be added individually, there wasn’t a quick way to get a snapshot of the whole site in one report.

Now that Google Search Console Sets are out, we are able to create sets, and then check out the data all in one single report.

Mobile app, mobile website, desktop website — how do you track their combined visibility in search? Until now, you’ve had to track all of these statistics separately. Search Console is introducing the concept of “property sets,” which let you combine multiple properties (both apps and sites) into a single group to monitor the overall clicks and impressions in search within a single report.

If you want to create a set, log in to your Google Search Console account and create the “create a set” button at the top right.  After that, you’ll be given a dialog that will allow you to choose a set name, as well as the properties that you want to add to it.

After the group has been set up, it’ll display in your overview section as a “property set.”

At this point in time, this feature will only lump together the Search Analytics report for now.
