Google’s 2016 Santa Tracker Signals The Official Countdown To Christmas

Thrive Business Marketing company logo

Google-thumbIt’s December, and the countdown to Christmas Day has now begun on Google with the launch of its annual Santa Tracker.

Not only do we get the countdown clock, Google opened its Santa Village, which offers a site for parents and educators with activites for K-12 students, a Santa Tracker app for Android, and  a Snta Tracker Chrome extension.  The Chrome extension allows you to keep track of Santa’s “precise” departure at all times.

Google’s Santa Tracker, for the past 12 years, has counted down the seconds until Santa Claus begins his journey from the North Pole on December 24.

Santa’s dashboard – featuring the latest and greatest in Google Maps technology and sleigh engineering – will allow you to follow his progress around the world, and also learn a little about some of his stops along the way.

The Santa Village this year was designed to look like an Advent calendar with a new activity for each day of December.

For the launch, which took place on December 1, Google had a “Present Bounce” game.  As of this writing, which is December 2, the activity included a link to an animated “Santa’s Back” video on YouTube.

There will be a news surprise every day during December from Google, which counts down the days until December 24 when Santa jumps in his sleigh and rides off to deliver gifts across the world.
