Patrick Pichette, Google’s CFO, To Retire

Patrick pichetteIt’s come to the attention of those in the SEO industry that Patrick Pichette, Google’s CFO,  has decided to retire, although he hasn’t specified a specific date when it will happen.  Patrick told Google that he will “assist” in finding a replacement.

The SEC filing said:

On March 4, 2015, Google Inc.’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Patrick Pichette, informed the company of his intent to retire. The effective date of his retirement has not yet been determined. Patrick indicated that he intends to assist in the search for a new CFO and ensure an orderly transition, which the company expects will occur within the next six months.

Patrick Pichette is Google’s chief financial officer. He has nearly 20 years of experience in financial operations and management in the telecommunications sector, including seven years at Bell Canada, which he joined in 2001 as executive vice president of planning and performance management. During his time at Bell Canada, he held various executive positions, including CFO from 2002 until the end of 2003, and was instrumental in the management of the most extensive communications network in Canada and its ongoing migration to a new national IP-based infrastructure. Prior to joining Bell Canada, Patrick was a partner at McKinsey & Company, where he was a lead member of McKinsey’s North American Telecom Practice. He also served as vice president and chief financial officer of Call-Net Enterprises Inc., a Canadian telecommunications company.

Patrick is a board member of Trudeau Foundation and Bombardier Inc., and serves as an advisor to Engineers Without Borders, Canada. Patrick earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Université du Québec à Montréal. He holds a master’s degree in philosophy, politics and economics from Oxford University, where he attended as a Rhodes Scholar.

Patrick Pichette made $5,153,076 in total compensation in the 2013 fiscal year.

Patrick has been with teh company since June of 2008.
