Periscope Broadcasts To Stream In Timelines On Twitter For iOS

Thrive Business Marketing company logo

Twitter-logoI’m sure that a lot of you have heard of Periscope, the live broadcast product by Twitter, and I’m sure that many of you have even used it yourself, whether you watched a broadcast or did a live stream yourself.  It looks like Periscope will be getting a really big visibility boost today, as the streaming video platform now directly integrates within Tweets, allowing users to broadcast without leaving Twitter for all iOS users.

Before, if you wanted to view a Periscope broadcast, you’d have to leave Twitter and watch the stream on the stand-alone Periscope app.  If you didn’t have the app installed, you were unable to watch the video.  Period.  Luckily, that’s all changing, as users will be able to view both live streams and broadcast replays directly on Twitter.

This can be a real big deal for brands, as the addition of watching Periscope streams directly through Twitter will allow them to harness their Twitter followers and display broadcast to a wider audience than they could do with just Periscope alone.

This new functionality is rolling out for Twitter on iOS over the next few days, and plans to integrate with Android are currently in the works.

Check out the official Periscope post for more information.
