Do you have a Google My Business (GMB) account? Quite a few online businesses do, as many brick and mortar businesses do as well. As unfortunate as it is, there are going to be times when some business owners are going to lose control of their GMB accounts due to the creator of the account creating it using their personal information, and then eventually leaving the business. Once the account creator is gone, the business owner has absolutely no way of accessing the account, and us unable to update any sort of information about the business at all, leaving the account to fade into the realm of becoming outdated.
So let’s say you’re that business owner, and you aren’t able to get access to your account since the account creator isn’t under your beck and call anymore as an employee. What do you do? Well, did you know that you could try using Google’s phone support? No? In a way, that wouldn’t be shocking if you didn’t realize that there was phone support for Google’s business service. Sure, if you’re a local SEO, you probably this is old news, but to most business owners and SEOs, they had no idea that the phone service even existed.
Sure, if you’re trying to reclaim control of your business listing, you could follow the steps that are provided in Google’s support system, but you’ll have to wait any number of weeks to gain control of your account. But in most cases, we don’t want to wait that long to get control of an account that was ours to begin with.
