Before, Instagram had capped their videos to only 15 seconds.  It seems the reason that Instagram has increased the video length for their platform is because people are watching more video than they were before.

Also, Instagram has brought back the ability to splice multiple clips together from their camera roll, which could really help bring in more video creators.  Rather than having to shoot your videos entirely in Instagram, you’ll be able to piece them together into a custom 60.second video.  For brands and content creators, they’ll now be able to create better, more professional content.  The multi-clip video will be available this week for iOS version 7.19 in Apple’s App Store.

The longer videos will begin rolling out today and will reach all accounts in the “coming months.”
