google-logo-feature-1030x686As the night of the American Presidential Election pressed on towards its close, it became clear that Donald Trump was on track to becoming the next US president, and during this time, searches related to moving to Canada began to spike.  These queries included a variety of different searches, such as “I want to move to Canada” and “Move to Canada.”

These majority these particular types of search queries came from blue states that had gone for Clinton, although there were some red states represented on the list too.

Other queries that Google saw from some o these smae people included “how to move to Sweden,” “how to impeach a president,” and “how did Trump win.”

The Canadian immigration website went down during the same time, due to being overwhelmed by traffic from despondent Americans wanting to learn more about moving north.  The site is now bac up if you want to learn more.
