Don’t remember the early days of Google? Didn’t it seem that the early search engine wasn’t going to be anything special, but somehow it got to be the biggest search engine in today’s search engine war. As many of you have probably seen, there is another new search engine on the block. Of course, we’re talking about the successful startup, DuckDuckGo. Somehow, the startup has broken out to star status in the search community.
According to The Verge, DuckDuckGo is “designed to be a less creepy and less invasive alternative to Google.” What they mean is DuckDuckGo doesn’t track user behavior like Google does. Plus, the new search engine has become part of iOS 8’s browser options.
At this point, DuckDuckGo obviously hasn’t reached the level of Google yet, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t consider optimizing for DuckDuckGo.
