Throughout the years, when we’re dealing with links, one thing we’ve been utilizing is anchor text. For those who aren’t sure exactly sure what anchor text is, we’ve got the definition right here for you. According to Moz, “anchor text is the visible characters and words that hyperlinks display when linking to another document or location on the web.” Pretty simple definition.
Links that use exact match anchor text do seem to retain a high value, but unfortunately, there is a number of techniques that are used to get these links aren’t exactly white hat. In fact, many of these techniques are certainly on the spammy side.
