It honestly feels weird to say that Google’s AMP has been around for five years already, and since its release, the search engine utilized the AMP label in search results, but it appears that the label is finally going away. The AMP label for AMP pages will no longer be shown in the mobile search results.
A page experience label was considered by Google to be displayed instead, but we don’t know if the company is or is thinking of doing a test for this newer label.
So what would the AMP label’s removal mean? What will be the impact of taking it away five years later? Time will tell.
