April-fools-dayWe already subjected you all with one April Fool’s prank, why not go for a twofer?

As we know, Google’s head of spam, Matt Cutts has been on leave for quite some time now.  Well, Matt has come out of his silence to reveal to us all with his April Fools prank for 2015, called AutoSEO, which is hosted at seo.ninja.

AutoSEO is a free open source tool meant to help webmasters deal with the complex tasks that come along with SEO, automatically.  So what are the details?  What does AutoSEO do?

Nothing.  Absolutely nothing.  It IS a joke after all.

Here is Matt Cutts’ explanation:

“One of the ideas that helped the World Wide Web succeed was that it separated presentation and content. You could write your text and decouple it from the problem of how the text looked. AutoSEO takes that to the next stage with search engines, so you don’t have to think about things like redirects.”

Matt is asking webmasters interested in a trial version of the software to sign up at seo.ninja, a domain that he obtained last year.
