As SEOs, I’m sure you’ve all had many different kinds of clients. It’s always been interesting to find out what these clients do in their business, and what you have to do to make their business run. The longer you work as an SEO, the better chance you’ll have to run into one of those “boring” businesses. But even in these “boring” businesses, you can find thriving communities and online magazines and publications. It’s amazing that even with these sorts of businesses that many would find boring and dull, there can be quite the following.
Just because you come across a client that, at first glance, appears to have a boring business, doesn’t mean the work you put into their marketing campaign will be boring. You may actually be pleasantly surprised. Robin Swire of Parallax knows what it’s like to have this type of client. He tells us all about it in his Moz post, “The Art of Thinking Sideways: Content Marketing for ‘Boring’ Businesses.”
In his article, he discusses one of the “boring” businesses that he did work for….car parks. Robin knows exactly how working for this sort of business can be, and how fun it can be too. I just can’t judge that book by it’s cover. Robin talks about how to deal with businesses that can be less than exciting.
So what can you do to deal with client businesses that aren’t all that thrilling? Check out Robin’s Moz post and discover the things you can do to brainstorm for boring.
