Google is planning to restrict terms within the search query report in order to show only the terms that was “searched by a significant number of users.”

This update was, not surprisingly, was met with a level of anger by the SEM community, leaving them feeling frustrated. This was one of the main ways we were able to monitor and optimize paid search activities on the platform. Not only that, it seems that there wasn’t a lot of clarification on how this significance is calculated.

Not surprisingly, this would set quite a few people off, making some even go as far as starting a petition so that Google would allowing advertisers to opt-out of this, instead of just forcing it upon everybody.

Who knows why Google decided to make this decision.
