Writing this particular blog post, I realize that this will be one of the last batch of posts that I right for the entire year of 2014. After today, I will be able to lay to rest another entire collection of blog posts for the entire year. For me, that’s a pretty decent milestone, as I obviously haven’t gone crazy from all the writing I’ve done over the year.
In a number of industries, you’ll find that there will always be wrap-up posts revolving around the best of the best, top ten lists, among other year-end related posts. I’ve already shared a number of top tens (top ten most popular searches in several search engines) on the Thrive blog, but we’re crazy here, so I’m going to throw a wrench into the works.
Instead of another collection of top tens, we’re going to share with you a a post by Isla McKetta from Moz that gives us the best of the best that Moz can gives us. In Isla’s post, they are celebrating the top 10 of the Moz top 10 for 2014. Now you know that’s going to be good.
Now, you’d think that in order to find the best of the best, all Moz would have to do is look through all their top ten lists, and pick the best post through the sheer number of views for each post. But nope, not really.
According to Isla,
“There’s no formula for what makes an article Top-10 worthy. We look for the best content of each two week period and then try and winnow and fit it until each newsletter contains just the right balance of digital marketing tips, tricks, analysis, and inspiration.”
In this case, Isla chose articles from across the last 12 months that really stood the test of time (at least for 2014). In her post, Isla gives us articles that continue to “inspire, how-tos and guides so comprehensive they deserve a revisit, and, yes, even a few tips and tricks that you should really get to.“
