Not long ago, we found out through an announcement from Google that they would reward sites who use HTTPS encryption with a slight boost in search results. Besides the promise of a ranking boost, the idea behind having an HTTPS encryption would help improve security, and allow for better referral data.
In a poll given out by Moz, only 24% of those who have a site are planning to make the switch to secure HTTPS. Almost 58% of those polled have no intention (at least right now) to upgrade to a more secure version of their site.
In an article written by Cyrus Shepard of Moz, we will be shown more detail about the SEO benefits for marketers that make the move to HTTPS. Also, we will be given tips and tricks that marketers can use when they are making that big step into the world of a more secure website. After all, it isn’t quite as simple as flipping a switch. There’s more to it than that.
