Bing Webmaster Tools’ Submit URL, Block URL and Crawl Control features have migrated over to the new Bing Webmaster portal. This announcement was mad on May 19 at SMX London. The current and new pages will be able to be used simultaneously for a small period of time before Bing deprecates the current pages in a few weeks.
The new toolset provides a cleaner, faster and more responsive experience for both SEOs and webmasters. These migrated tools can be used for controlling how Bing crawls and indexes content. These improvements might end up encouraging more usage as well as increasing adoption.
The Submit URL tool allows webmasters to submit pages directly to Bing for real-time indexing.
The Block URL tool lets webmasters disable a URL temporarily from appearing in Bing search results. It can also be used in order to clear Bing’s cache for a given URL if the page has been updated recently.
The Crawl Control tool can be used to regulate the hourly crawl rate.
According to Fabrice Canel, the principal program manager at Bing, Bing Webmaster Tools will be completely revamped by July.
