When Building Communities Isn’t the Best Way to Build Links

Link-buildingBuilding links isn’t easy.  Perhaps it was easier to accomplish back in the day when there wasn’t such a stringent regiment set in place from search engines like Google or Bing, who are now using more detailed algorithms to stop us from using “unnatural links” as a way to build up a following.

There has got to be a better way to build links.  I’m sure many of you already have your ways of doing just that.  Some would say that producing great content is the way to go.  At this point, it seems that is where it is at, the core of the solution to the link building puzzle.  Content.

John-Henry Scherck has a post on Moz that focuses on building links.  In his article, John-Henry talks about his obsession with content, and companies that are producing the best and most successful digital content in his opinion.  To him, Movoto and Airbnb are these companies that seem to be building link acquisition using content, but their strategies are totally different.
