In an announcement made by Google on Twitter, it’s now possible to add a business description to your Google local listings directly within Google My Business.  The business description can show yup in the local knowledge panel in search or in Google Maps for the business.

The feature was seen coming, and it now seems to be full rolled out for use by businesses.

If you’d like to add the description of your business,

  1. log in to Google My Business
  2. click on the “info” button on the menu bar.  Here, you’ll see a new section labeled as “Add business description.”
  3. click on the pencil icon next to that field
  4. when the menu comes up, enter a brief description of your business
