Chrome Lets Users Pay With Credit Cards Saved In Their Google Accounts

It has been announced in the Chromium Blog by Google that Chrome users who are signed in are now able to use payment methods that are saved to their Google accounts during the checkout process.

This feature uses auto-fill payment info associated with a user’s Google account. This means that payment method is available across Chrome-enabled devices, as long as the user is signed in.

For several years now, Google has been working to reduce friction for users to complete e-commerce transactions, particularly on mobile. With its Shopping Actions, users can pay for products directly from Shopping ads using Google’s own checkout cart and the payment information saved in each user’s Google accounts. This feature could help increase the number of users who save their payment information with Google, eventually increasing the chances they’ll convert on Shopping Actions-enabled ads.

When a users completes a transaction, Chrome will offer to show credit cards saved to a user’s Google account. This lets the users select they want to use, and then verify it with the CVC number. This also means users can add new credit cards to their accounts.

Chrome sync does not have to be turned on to use this feature.
