With Facebook’s new Frame Studio, users can make frames that will be superimposed on top of pictures that was taken with the Facebook camera on profile pictures.  This is a different kind of marketing channel, and does have a few limitations.

Technically, you could consider Frames as filters, which is familiar to those who use the likes of Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat.  With Twitter and Instagram, filters have been a way to give images a visual effect.  Snapchat filters have been a way to quickly to add text and visual elements, such as the name of a city you’re in, or th logo of a company that has sponsored a filter.

Facebook frames are like the ones offered by Snapchat.  But the difference is,  they’re free and potentially could reach a wider audience.  This is a huge promotional opportunity for marketers.
