Since Google added new filters to its Google Flights site, the company had announced a brand new travel planning experience for mobile users.
With Destinations on Google, users can use the easy and intuitive designed travel-related mobile search process to check out the best travel dates, locations, prices and more without navigating through multiple websites.
To check this feature out, open up the Google app and say or enter a specific state, country or continent along with the word “destination” or “vacation.” Once you’ve entered the location your interested in, Google will return a collection of different travel options based on that location.
As an example, I did a search for Australian destination, and this is what I got:
In the announcement, the listed airfare and hotel prices are powered by Google Flights and Google’s hotel search.
Users can access a variety of different filters within Destinations, such as the ability to narrow a search based on interests:
Users can even search by which month they want to travel so they can compare different travel rates across multiple destinations:
Another tab that you can check out is the “Explore” tab, which allows users to search without specific dates to determine the best time to visit their chosen destination.
With the price filter, you can use the slider tool that lets travelers limit their search options by cost.
There is even a “Plan a trip” feature in Destinations that lets users compare hotel and flight costs.
“We show you highs and lows for the next six months, so you can find the right price tag for you,” says Google. “As you slide left or right, the results instantly update with real-time fares and rates.”
Below is a video that Google shared that shows us how the Destinations search works:
