A view of Facebook's logo May 10, 2012 iLate last week, it was reported by Reuters that Facebook has broken up with Bing, quietly dropping results from the Microsoft search engine.  This has come due to that week’s Facebook search update.

“We’re not currently showing web search results in Facebook Search because we’re focused on helping people find what’s been shared with them on Facebook,” the spokesperson wrote. “We continue to have a great partnership with Microsoft in lots of different areas.”

For quite a while, Facebook search was built towards helping users find other people or information within their social network.  Facebook has give its users results from the wider web ever since 2008, first with Microsoft’s Live Search, then in 2010 with Bing.
