Google Adds ‘Personal’ Search Filter, Then Drops It

On Friday, May 26, Google displayed a new filter in the main Google search tools for showing personal results only.  This feature was live for anybody who had a personal Google account who was signed in while doing searches.

If you selected “Personal,” you’d get a drop-down option under the search tools.  Google would then filter to show you your emails, photos, flights and other personal data related to your query in the Google search results.  The following is another screen shot by Barry Schwartz that shows his personal emails for his Gmail account that he doesn’t use much:

This news came out last week, but when I tried it this on the following Tuesday, I found that I was able to access this Personal menu item:
