Google Adds Vacation Rentals To Hotel Search

Thrive Business Marketing company logo

Recently, Google redesigned and added features to its hotel search interface to make it more intuitive and useful for both desktop and mobile users.  The company launched vacation rentals in the mobile UI on Tuesday.

Also, users will be able to filter and browse through short-term rentals via Google Hotel Search.  This feature is available on mobile and will be coming to desktop over the next month.

TripAdvisor, VRBO, Expedia and Hotels.com are the current participating providers.  There are cases where users can book hotels directly through Google and pay via Google Pay.  The reservation and payment details are received by the hotel or booking partner, who is also responsible for sending confirmations to the users.

Testing for vacation rental filters in hotel search began in 2017.
