One of Google’s latest addition  to its local search results includes wait times for some local listings, such as restaurants, are appearing when people view those listings in web search.  This information will eventually appear on Google Maps, as well.

The feature will appear near the popular times information, which shows users how busy a venue is at a particular time and day.  Just as with the popular times feature, wait time estimates are based on anonymized historical data.

An estimated current wait time for that moment will appear in that section.  Users can then tag on any of the chart’s hour bars, allowing them to see the estimated wait for the selected time period.  Users can scroll left and right to see a summary of each day’s wait time below the hours bars, making it possible to plan ahead to beat the crowds.
