When you click on a deep link, a user is sent directly to a specific in-app location. Not only does this improve UX, but it you can also optimize campaigns around a single page, stage or catalog without having to worry about user navigation.
Now, app advertisers won’t have to worry about implementing deep linking to run App campaigns for engagement anymore. This announcement came from Google Ads on October 25th.
Now, advertisers can select “Set to app homepage” during ad group creation so users can be directed to the app homepage.
Implementing deep links usually means getting developer support, which could be a limited resource in your organization. This new option lets app advertisers utilize App campaigns for engagement, all without having to request that support. This will allow your campaign to get off the ground faster.
