Google Assistant is being made available via SDK to third parties by Google to integrate into their appliances and devices. Google is quickly ramping up third-party content integration into the Assistant. The company made the announcement this week at their developer conference that the Google Assistant is available on over 100 million devices and has more than 70 smart home partners.
Alexa has over 13000 skills, already creating an issue with app discovery. The amount of third-party Google Assistant apps is much smaller at this pint, it’ll grow quickly due to the strength of Google’s assets and ecosystem.
On May 18th, Google launched an Assistant Directory where users are able to discover third-party content. Some of this is able to be done via the Google Home app as well.[Find out more in the full post on Search Engine Land]
