Google App Streaming Now Live For Many Apps Via Try Now Button

Google accelerated mobile pages Back in November of last year, Google had prototyped app streaming on only a few select apps, but now, times have changed  App streaming seems to be available for many apps in the Google mobile search results.

There may now be many more apps that have the ability to be streamed, but the requirements are still the same.  You have to be running Android L or greater, and you have to be doing it over WIFI when you do your search within the Google Search App.  Then, if there s an app that comes up, it may have a button that appears next to the green “Install” button that says, “Try Now.”  If you click the “Try Now” button, the app streaming will happen on your device in real time.

Basically, app stream gives you the ability to try an app without having to install it on your device.

Here’s an example for when you do a search on [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][word search]:

By clicking the “Try Now” button, the app will launch in the app streamer, allowing you to use the app for a limited time:

When you stream the app, you’ll see at the bottom of the screen a message that says “App streamed by Google (beta).”  By clicking on that banner, you’ll be given the option to install the app, learn more about app streaming, or go back to the Google search results, or simply close out the window.

Although the user interface still resembles the examples given back in November, the biggest difference seems that more apps work under the conditions mentioned above.
