Back in May, the ability to find out if an local retailer had specific products in stock right from the knowledge panel listing for the retailer was introduced by Google. The company is now dedicating a while lot more real estate to the feature.
There was tweet by Glenn Gabe, a digital marketing consultant at G-Squared Interactive that takes a look the update. Right now, the update is available on both mobile and desktop, going beyond the simple “Search items at this store link” that Google first showed.
Here are some examples:
The new feature is a part of the Local Inventory Ads product. It allow retailers to promote products that are available in their locations via inventory feeds submitted to Google. Both links and search results will lead users to Google Shopping pages.
There is a test going o that shows relevant text ads in knowledge panel listings for local businesses.
