Just a head of the 2016 holiday shopping season, Google enabled integrations between Google Merchant Center and three e-commerce platforms.  Those integrations will be coming to an end soon.

These integrations allowed merchants using BigCommerce, Magento or PrestaShop to directly connect their product catalogs to Google Merchant Center.  Emails from Google began to circulate to customers who took advantage of the integrations that support for those direct imports will be ending on March 20, 2018.  This was reported by Sales & Orders on January 24.

A copy of one of the emails received by Sales & Orders says that Google is ending the partnerships “in order to better focus on solutions that will make the Shopping ads onboarding a more seamless experience. We’re continuing to work with e-commerce platforms to explore more frictionless integration opportunities.”

If you’re currently using an app that uses direct-uploading feeds (such as Google Shopping app for BigCommerce) and any associated feeds, they will stop working as of March 20.  Merchants who use the Google solution will have to find an alternative method or other app supported by their platform.
