Google Image Search Adds Usage Rights To Search Tools

Thrive Business Marketing company logo

Maybe you’ve seen it already, but there is a new option under the search tools for Google Image search for “usage rights.”  Keep in mind that this particular feature isn’t new at all, but according to Matt Cutts, who made an announcement on Twitter, these features are now added to the main filter options on search tools.  In other words you won’t have to dig into the “advanced image search features to get at them.

One of the negative aspects of this feature is that despite finding images under the usage rights filter, that may not mean that that image is actually ok to use.  There are some people out there who may have stolen an image not intended for reuse and posted it on their site.  In turn, that new version of the image would fall under being able to be found under the filtered option.
