Google has been spotted serving AMP pages in desktop search in waht seems to be a glitch or possibly a test.

What’s bigger is that it seems that the size of the images shown for AMP results have changed as well.

The following images is an example shared by Christian Oliveira on Twitter:

He replicated the same type of SERP for other queries too. As you can see, the lightening bolt icon next to the results, which indicates that they’re AMP pages.

Oliveira noted on Twitter that these results seem to be a cross between Google Discover and regular search results.

This is strange as AMP pages are typically reserved for mobile devices. Why would Google be directing users to AMP pages on desktop searches?

It’s very possible this could be a glitch, rather than a test.
