According to Google My Business’s updated help documentation, short names are being phased out and will no longer be available to GMB users. The original purpose of short names was to help businesses make their GMB profiles more accessible to potential customers or clients.
For now, if you are currently using short names in your campaigns, then you’ll be safe. But there might be a time when those will eventually not work, so it’s a good idea to keep a heads up with the news.
