It has been announced by Google that the new features that were reported by Search Engine Land are called International Targeting.
What does International Targeting reports do within Google Webmaster Tools? In a nutshell, It helps webmasters debug common issues with any implementation of href-lang. This markup will enable Google and other search engines to serve the corrct language or regional version of a site or page to the appropriate searcher. The unfortunate thing is that most webmasters will implement the annotations/markup incorrectly. WIth International Targeting reports, these issues will be able to be seen and fixed.
There are two common issues that the report will help identify with href-lang annotations.
1. Missing return links.
2. Incorrect href values.
