The Google My Business API has been updated to add some support for creating and editing Google Posts. Google Posts allows people and businesses to create content directly on Google that can appear highly ranked in Google search results for their names.
Google noted that in version 4.0 of the API, “you can now create Posts on Google directly through the API.” Included in the changelog is a bunch of other features, although the Google Posts is the most exciting.
It’ll be interesting to see what third-party developers and tool designers do to automate a lot of the posting in the Google Posts interface, much in the same way brands manage their social accounts with Twitter, Facebook and others.
Mike Blumenthal did make note that this is limited to “business[es] with fewer than 10 locations.” He said that Google is testing support for chains with over 10 locations.
