Google has been running a test that serves AMP-enabled landing pages from mobile Search ads to users for just over a year. The company is now experimenting with showing the AMP lightening icon next to the description in some of those text ads.
The following example of the test, which was spotted by a reader, is running on an ad for Event Tickets Center, which participated in the AMP test since the beginning of the test.
For now, this is just a test. Google said that “We’re always testing new ways to improve our experience for our advertisers and users, but don’t have anything specific to announce right now.”
