It seems that once again, Google is showing mobile smartphone icons on smartphone friendly search results when you are searching on your smartphone. A number of searchers are noticing it, and a screen shot was noticed by Brent Payne, who took these screen shots.
The shots taken below were captured on an iPhone that was using Chrome:
Look at the pictures, and you’ll notice that there is a smartphone icon on the left side of the search results snippet. Something like this was tested by Google back in August of 2012.
According to Google, bad mobile sites are going to see a ranking demotion in the search results.
