Recently, there have been reports that Wix websites that currently aren’t being indexed and ranked within Google’s search results. For those not in the know, Wix is a popular website building platform that is used by smaller businesses and professionals to build web presence.
Apparently, this odd occurrence began happening about two weeks ago, although Google finally confirmed that there is an issue, today. John Mueller from Google said that the company is currently working to bring the Wix web pages back into the index.
John said in a support thread,
“[fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][W]e’re working on resolving things here on our side in the meantime.”
John then added,
“One thing that you might notice is that we’ll be recrawling these sites a bit faster to get the dropped pages back into the index a bit faster.”
Google’s team, according to John, has taken an “in-depth look at the setup on these sites” and is working to get the issue fixed when it comes to indexing.
So at this point, if you’re using a Wix website, you’re going to have to wait it out for Google to resolve the problem. You can take heart in knowing that Google has expedited the re-indexing of these sites, so we can expect them to pop back up in the search results soon.
John Meuller is asking that you keep Google up-to-date on your Wix indexing issues via the support thread.
