Google’s New AdWords Editor Version Offers Shopping Campaigns Support, More Display Targeting Options

Adwords editor icon Google has released a new version of AdWords Editor that supports the new campaign type, Shopping Campaigns.  The old styles of PLA campaigns will be shut down at some point in August, according to Google.

One thing to keep in mind is that this support is currently limited to editing those Shopping Campaigns that have already been set up.  So in order to be able to use the new feature of the Editor, you’ll need to created a new campaign and product groups via the AdWord web interface.

Other updates that are included for display advertisers include support for more audience targeting.  What’s also available from the Assign Audience drop-down is Interest categories and in-market audiences.

In the “Targeting optimization” drop-down, you’ll find the options, “Aggressive”, “Conservative” and Disabled” for auto-targeting on Display Network campaigns.

This new version of the software is now available for download, although there is a number of people who have yet to get the upgrade alert who already have the Editor installed.  If you haven’t seen it yet, be patient and see if it pops up over the next day or so.
