It was announced last night by Google that a new Panda Update began rolling out earlier this week. With this new update, the search engine will identify websites that has low-quality content. Googler Pierre Far said that, in the recent update, the update will be complete by the end of this week, and will affect three to five percent of the queries, depending on their locale.
This newest Panda will help Google identify and thin content “more precisely.” On top of that, the update will penalize sites with low-quality content, thus allowing websites with better, higher-quality content to rank higher in the search results.
“This results in a greater diversity of high-quality small- and medium-sized sites ranking higher.”
– Pierre Far
This newest update was labeled Panda 4.1 by Danny Sullivan of Marketing Land.
