Recently, Google updated the How Search Works page to say that they have over 130 trillion pages in their search index. On the page it reads, “Search starts with the web. It’s made up of over 130 trillion individual pages and it’s constantly growing.”
This new figure is up by 100 trillion pages from when Google originally launched the web page back in March 1, 2013. In the original blog post from Google, it shows the metric of pages index back then, which was less than four years ago, to be only 30 trillion pages. This number is not based on the pages actually in their index but what Google is aware of across the web.
Check out the screen shot of the original number that appeared back in March of 2013:
Less than four years lter, the number grew by a massive 100 trillion pages!
