According to a May 2020 announcement, Google said that that Core Web Vitals would become a part of Google’s algorithms in 2021. Google told site owners that immediate action wasn’t needed.
But in November of 2020, Google said that the update was going to come into effect in May of 2021, so it’s probably a good time to take action on the Page Experience Update.

Core Web Vitals are metrics that are used in order to measure a website’s loading, interactivity and visual stability. These things are related to site speed in one way or another. They are important for users and search engines alike.
