TrafficGetting slapped with a penalty by Google can be pretty rough.  It can cause a lot of stress for you since you have to go through the rigorous process of trying to undo the damage done by the penalty.  On top of that, you’ll also be dealing with the fact that the traffic that is coming to your site will drop.  Noticeably.  Finally, there may even be the stigma have having been hit with a penalty in the first place.

In a nutshell, there will always be the fear and dread of getting that message in Webmaster Tools that telling you that Google has applied a manual spam action to your site due to unnatural links.  But, at least you can take comfort in knowing that after some work and perseverance, you’ll have that manual penalty cleaned up, no problem.

There are a ton of articles out there telling you how you can clean up these penalties, and that’s all good and great, but how many articles do you see out there that tell you what to expect once the penalty is taken care of?  Are you going to see an increase in traffic?  How fast will it increase?  Will it increase at all?  These are questions you don’t really see answered all that often.

Marie Haynes has written an article centered around the ultimate question, will there be an increase in traffic once your link penalty has been lifted?  To find out more details on the matter, visit her post over at Moz by following the link below.
