In an announcement made on April 20, Bing and GoFundMe have partnered up in order to facilitate donations made to local businesses that are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The owners of Bing Places for Business accounts can set up fundraisers through GoFundMe and Bing will display a donation button within its local listing page.

There are many local businesses who have had to either change their hours or temporarily close due to the pandemic, which isn’t great for their financial prosperity. Creating a fundraising campaign is a way for them to hopefully counter lost revenue during this crisis.

By having a donate button on your local listing will make your fundraiser accessible to customers that could be searching for your business. This could end up making your GoFundMe campaign more effective.

Right now, this feature is only available for new fundraisers. Bing will be adding support for existing GoFundMe campaigns in the coming weeks.

GoFundMe does not charge a platform fee; however, there is a fee of 2.9% plus $0.30 per donation for payment processing.

To set up a fundraiser, sign in to your Bing Places for Business account and click the “Get Started” button in the “Set up a GoFundMe fundraiser” module on your Bing Places dashboard. Then follow the prompts on GoFundMe as directed and the donate button will appear on your Bing local listing page.
