How To Make Every Single Page On Your Website Evergreen

Forest backgroundWhen you create the pages for your website, you probably want them to last for as long as possible, but unfortunately, we all know that eventually, any web page will not last forever.  Most of the pages and their content tend to lack evergreen qualities  What does this mean?  Within a few months or a few years, the pages will be outdated and there will be no use for them at all.  What you want is to create pages that seem timeless, so that they have lasting appeal and will be relevant for as long as possible.

What is evergreen content?

Well, anybody who’s heard of the term ‘evergreen’ probably thinks of those evergreen trees that are typically green all year round.  The evergreen tree is a symbol of perpetual life, so having evergreen pages/content is considered sustainable and long lasting.  You might think that all content online lasts forever, which is true, but there’s a difference between a post that never disappears and content that remains relevant months or years later.  That is what we mean by evergreen content.

What Evergreen Content is Not:

  • News articles
  • Statistics or numerical reports that are likely to change and go out of date
  • Pieces about a specific holiday or season
  • Articles focused on a current trend or pop culture fad
  • Latest clothing and fashion trends

The death of those web pages that don’t possess evergreen properties is a sad way for them to go.  After all, a number of these pages you’ve probably put a good amount of work into, and it’s sad to see them fade into the useless black of obscurity.

There is an article written by Neil Patel that will show you how you can make every page on your site evergreen available on Search Engine Land.  If you’re interested in giving your site a timeless feel, go ahead and check out Neil’s article in the link below!
