Marketers Unsurprised By Google’s ‘Project Bernanke’, ‘Jedi Blue’

Google is seems to always be in some sort of legal trouble, but that comes as no surprise. A company that large and widespread across the world is bound to get in trouble for something, somewhere.

Back in December of 2020, ten states banded together to sue Google for making an agreement with Facebook to reduce competition in exchange for giving the social media platform an advantage in Google-run ad auctions, called “Jedi Blue.”

When unredacted documents first released to the public about this, it appeared that Google was using data from past bids in the company’s digital advertising exchange to supposedly gain an advantage over competitors in their own ad-buying system. This advantage became known as “Project Bernanke.”
