The Myth of Google’s 200 Ranking Factors

Bigstock-chalkboard-facts-and-myths-50156069Have you ever wondered what what it would be like if you could sit down and look at a list of Google’s 200 ranking factors?  Yeah, it would be awesome to see a complete list of every single ranking factor that Google uses for their search results, but that’s probably never really going to happen, at least not 100%.  A complete and ultimate list of these factors, plain and simply, just don’t exist.

This doesn’t stop people from trying to compile their own list though, so I guess I would commend them for trying.  Most of these articles and posts could even be considered possible click bait to get people to link to their page or site.

Perhaps there should be some clarification.  I feel like those who are trying to create their own comprehensive lists of Google and their ranking factors probably mean well, and many of these lists may have some good, solid information on them.  But what we’re talking about here is a true, complete list that is definitive.  This particular list just doesn’t exist.

Gianluca Fiorelli has written a post for Moz on this topic because “those lists are, quite simply, useless and dangerous.”  For Gianluca, he wants to help SEOs out there to understand the fact that these lists aren’t existing anywhere, and a number of these factors are either myths, are correlation factors, or are thrown into their lists just so they will reach 200.

There is way more information to read up on besides what I’ve talked about in this particular post, and that information can be found in Gianluca’s post on Moz.com.  Just follow the link below and find out more about the Google ranking factor list myth!
